Welcome to Break Into Law, a supportive community built to help students like you break down generational barriers and traverse across the legal field.

Break Into Law is a brand of the non-profit organization Barrier Breakers®, Inc. As a first-generation lawyer and the first student from her high school to go to Princeton University, Founder & Executive Director Sydney Montgomery, Esq. understands how lonely and overwhelming the law school application process can feel.

Here, we are dedicated to creating a space where you feel comfortable asking questions about law school admissions and law school life. Here, we understand that entering the legal field as a first-generation or minoritized student means that your questions may be different than those for continuing-generation students. Here, we are focused on helping you break down barriers and transform the legal field.

WHAT OUR LISTENERS HAVE TO SAY

“[Your podcast] has been so helpful for me whilst going through the application and LSAT process.

I wanted to specifically thank you for your How to Approach Scholarship Negotiations episode. I wasn’t initially offered a scholarship from Rutgers, but after listening to that episode, I went back as you said and asked for a scholarship, and they actually ended up giving me about half of tuition in scholarship money!

Your platform has been amazing for me, especially as a Black woman, and a first generation law student.”

- Jasmyn, 2021-2022 law school applicant
